Signature Scalp offers specialist scalp micropigmentation (SMP) in Adelaide, delivered by Michael Kennedy-Andrews, a nationally accredited Diploma of Cosmetic Tattoo practitioner.

    SMP for Hair Transplant Enhancement – Maximising Your Results

How much does SMP cost in Adelaide?

Full head SMP at Signature Scalp is $3,300 for a standard three-session package. A promotional package is currently available at $2,200 for a limited time. Density and scar camouflage treatments are priced on consultation. Payment plans and Afterpay are available.

How many sessions does SMP take?

Most treatments require three sessions, scheduled approximately one week apart. The gap between sessions allows the pigment to heal and settle before the next layer is added. A healed result review is included after Session 3.

Is SMP permanent?

SMP is a long-lasting cosmetic procedure. The pigment is placed in the dermal layer of the scalp and does not wash off. Some gradual lightening can occur over years, particularly with regular sun exposure. A top-up session every few years maintains the result for most clients.

Is SMP safe?

Yes. Signature Scalp operates within South Australia's skin penetration regulations, uses single-use sterile equipment and maintains full infection control compliance at all times. Michael's formal qualification includes specific training in hygiene and safety standards for cosmetic tattooing.

Does SMP look natural?

When delivered correctly, SMP is indistinguishable from a close-shaved head or natural follicle density. Is SMP suitable for women?

Yes. SMP for women focuses on adding density through thinning hair rather than creating a shaved head look. It is effective for hormonal hair loss, postpartum thinning, alopecia and general diffuse thinning. A consultation is the best starting point to assess your situation and discuss what is achievable.

How long is the recovery after SMP?

There is no significant downtime. Most clients experience mild redness for a few hours after each session. For the first four days, avoid heavy sweating, swimming and getting the scalp wet. Normal daily activities can resume immediately.
